So, C2E2 is upon us, and as an experiment, I’m going to try live blogging at least one panel. So, come back here at about 3:30 for the start of my first panel, the Green Lantern panel, and just refresh as it goes. Here we go:

There’s a murmur in the room, with the DC logo up on the screen, all the fans are waiting to find out the news. Let’s see what new they give us.

Seems like Eddie Berganza and the GL crew are running a bit late…

As Eddie takes the stage there is applause for him. He rhetorically asks if there are any Green Lantern fans. In attendance are Joe Prado, Ivan Reis, Doug Mahnke, Christian Alamy, and more.

Lots of talk about Brightest Day character designs.

Next event, as some GL fans know, is War of the Green Lanterns.

A laugh as Berganza describes how difficult it is to be a colorist for Green Lantern.

Doug Mahnke talks about creating the emotional entities like Ion, Parallax, Predator and the like. Apparently, a lot of the character designs come from the fact that Geoff Johns gives a lot of description to his scripts.

Honestly, a lot of this panel so far is the Green Lantern creators patting each other on the back.

Time for fan questions: first is a question about the Indigo tribe. No elaboration.

Next is a question about whther or not Black Lanterns are done. Looks like there should be more Untold Tales of the Blackest Night coming soon.

The Red Lanterns are getting their own series! Apparently this is not news…

War of the Green Lanterns will feature parts from really all of the Lantern corps.

There’s some quibbling about continuity, but honestly, that’s kind of to be expected at a Q&A.

Apparently there are a lot of Guy Gardner fans in this room…

And that’s pretty much it. It hasn’t really given us much new information, but it’s been a fun panel and entertaining to boot. I which you all could have been here, but if you can’t, be sure to catch my next liveblog, which will be for the DC Nation panel, starting at 6:30 CST! Thanks for reading!
