It’s Thursday, and that mean’s it’s time for Mortals, Take Cover!  Let’s see what the big two have put on the front of their books this week, shall we?

10. Wolverine #1

Why does Wolverine need so many titles?  Because the dude makes an awesome cover, that’s why.

9. Brightest Day #9

I like the art style here, even if the actual image is a bit bland.

8. House of Mystery #29

I really like this one, like the last one, for the art style, but it gets a higher spot due to the way the image interacts with the title elements.  It’s clever.

7. Taskmaster #1

Fairly straightforward Taskmaster image, I’ll be honest, this one’s here because I’m really looking forward to reading it.

6. Freedom Fighters #1

See the entry for Taskmaster, only this one has what I feel is a more dynamic cover.

5. Gorilla-Man #3

I really like the psuedo-realistic look, especially since Gorilla-Man looks TERRIFYING.

4. Avengers: The Children’s Crusade #2

This one’s at 4 because I like the elements that were chosen and the way they’re laid out.  It kind of brings to mind George Perez.

3. Jack of Fables #47

This cover is pretty funny, if you ask me.  It seems to me like he’s asked the dragon to wait while he finishes up his reading.

2. Secret Six #25

I’m not just a comic reader, I’m also a gamer, they go hand in hand.  Nice game-inspired layout here.

1. 1 Month 2 Live #1

This cover conveys everything it needs to, the sense of time running out, the main character’s desperation, and if that’s not enough to sell you, we have Spidey and the Thing, too.

And that’s it for this week.  Did I miss an awesome cover?  Let me know!
